In December 1998 a humble little website was uploaded to the now defunct Ozemail web servers and on that day the first ever edition of the site that would be come to known as Whoisthefezz went live in painfully hard to read colour. Back then there was no broadband internet, the only MP3s you could get was one that claimed "It really whipped the llamas ass", Sri Lanka were cricket world champions and three wrestling promotions thirved in the boom of the late 90s.

The site was originally started as my personal space on the internet but over the years had grown to be the home base for everything time wasting and fun. Remember the early 2000's were days before blogs, MySpace, LiveJournal and of course Facebook and WHOISTHEFEZZ was the destination when you wanted to see all the photos from random adventures, fun nights out and of course the famous end of year retrospective. At it's peak WHOISTHEFEZZ was the hotbed of activity with a fair majority of visitors with its range of photos, quotes and world famous ramblings from my good self.

WHOISTHEFEZZ started out as a place to express myself online and basically was a novelty. It was quite rare for anyone to have their own site back in the day since the whole internet thing was fairly new but as time moved on online social networking came along and now every Tom Dick and Harry has a place on the web. Even Geocities, synonimous with free web hosting and site building, is shutting it's doors in October. Basically I had to face facts, WHOISTHEFEZZ isnt relevant in 2009 as it was in 1999 or even 2004. Nowadays everyone can put up photos of nights out, everyone can blog about their favourite episode of Seinfeld and most importantly the art of creating your own site isnt as rewarding or fulfilling as it used to be.

It was always my intent for this site to entertain and I'm fairly sure I've done that over the years but I never wanted to have WHOISTHEFEZZ linger about like an old guy in a club who still thinks he's hip and if anything I always wanted to go out on a high (which probably would have made PISS WEEK 007 the perfect time to bow out) which is why the last thing on the WHOISTHEFEZZ radar, before I enivitably relaunch, would be coverage of my 25th birthday.

The core team of WHOISTHEFEZZ has changed over the years but the same theme remains in all of us. We're old. The days of the Sentinel office in 2002 have passed, a new generation of people are there claiming the Edgy as theirs and more importantly Mr. Sexy Blazer Man is forgotton a minor footnote in the annals of MHS. But bottom line is I aint going anywhere, I'll still have my camera with me taking numerous photos of hilarious adventures and good times and hilarity will always result!. Since the last year of WHOISTHEFEZZ has been a bit more cricket based we'll be evolving into a dedicated cricket site in the coming months purely for my own enjoyment.

Over the years I've made some incredible friends and whatnot and shared a lot of fun times that have been chronicled on this site and for that I thank all of you for the good times. Even though this is the end I've loved every part of the journey.
