Top 20 Bond Films (Originally posted 31.05.2006)

by on May.27, 2021, under Repost

Back in the heyday of Whoisthefezz I used to write a lot of posts from video game reviews, to recaps of nights out with pictures. Because I’m very much a digital hoarder as much as I am an actual hoarder I thought I’d do a few retro reposts to pass time during lockdown… updated for 2021 of course becaue it seems Nims in his 20s didn’t mind the odd effing and jeffing!

So without further ado I present the first Whoisthefezz Retro Repost: The Nims Top 20 Bond Films… in a slightly modified form!(Shout out to my buddy Ashlee for playing the role of a Bond girl back in 2006… man I had a head of hair back then didnt I?)

Mega Retron HD/Joyzz/Mega Everdrive Review

by on Oct.02, 2020, under Gaming

As you might have seen in my previous post, I’ve got a fair bit of love for my SEGA Megadrive which is still in working order. But 1994 is getting more and more in the rear view mirror and the old RCA cables don’t paint a great picture on a 4K telly. That’s where the good folk at Hyperkin came in and I decided it’s time to invest in some flashy new gear to bring my Megadrive into today’s day and age.

Exploring ‘Mega Drive Mountain’

by on Sep.15, 2020, under Gaming

Anyone that’s made their way to my house (which hasn’t been for a while for obvious reasons) would have noticed among the die cast model V8 Supercars and wrestling figures that are proudly on show in my living room there is also an abundance of SEGA consoles – and far too many SEGA MegaDrives for one man!

There’s a plethora of childhood memories in what I’ve dubbed ‘MegaDrive Mountain’ so now seems like a good enough time to have a looksee at the storied history of how I own every single mainstream SEGA console.

Overnight Crowd WWE Interviews: Vol 3

by on Aug.27, 2020, under Interviews, Wrestling

Well 2020 might not have been the year we all envisioned, this year’s WWE SummerSlam has come and gone and it’s also my yearly reminder about how lucky I am to be able to chat to some of my favourite superstars thanks to the good people at WWE Australia. Since SummerSlam 2017 I’ve had the privilege to chat to some of the great talent on behalf of 1116 SEN. So for the third year running, here’s all the chats I’ve had with some of the WWE’s finest – including Gerard Whateley’s chat with WWE Champion Drew McIntyre!

Goodbye Mihai

by on Apr.16, 2020, under Blog

Mihai Avram, or as I called him “Big Mezz”, left us last Monday losing a battle to brain cancer. For a good chunk of my time at Melbourne High – Mezz was one of my closest mates. “Franger hangers” as Mezz called us due to the fact we both were on the Frankston line.

The ‘Stumps’ Archive

by on Feb.05, 2020, under Interviews

In one of the many incarnations of Whoisthefezz over the years, in it’s later stages of life we went from the “Modern Drinking” tagline to exclusively covering cricket. Myself and Freemo did it all from IPL retrospectives, previews for meaningless India v Sri Lanka series and hell we even covered the now defunct Indian Cricket League from about 2008 until it fizzled out in 2012.

Who would have guessed that five years later, I’d actually host a cricket show on the radio! Well it happened and it was with my childhood idol Simon O’Donnell for the first season and the following year team up with former Test spinner Bryce McGain. So I present to you the Stumps 2017-18, 2018-19 archive!

Decade In Review

by on Dec.22, 2019, under Blog

As you may or may not know, traditionally I wrap up a year with my cheeky little year in review video. However with 2020 on the horizon, I figured we’d need a bit more than a quick two or three minutes of video with a Pitbull backing track. So let’s peel back the layers on the decade that was the 2010s

Top Ten Wrestling Matches of the 2010s

by on Dec.12, 2019, under Wrestling

I’m just gonna come out and say it, the 2010s weren’t that bad as everyone makes out to be – there’s been some insanely good matches not just in the WWE but even the many different alternatives to them and that’s what made the decade so good! So as we look towards 2020 and say farewell to this decade here’s my top ten matches from 2010 – 2019.

Obviously don’t take this as gospel and your mileage may vary when it comes to your taste in pro-graps but these are the ten matches that stood out to me from the 2010s that really hit me in that feel spot

According to my Facebook memories, on this day eight years ago I did my first ever on air shift for HOT FM WA. It’s no secret that I’ve always had a huge desire to be a workday FM jock and it was a fill in shift in the afternoon on HOT FM WA that got the ball rolling that lead me to a network breakfast show, and something I thought would never happen – doing shifts on Nova 100 in Melbourne.

Here’s some of the fun I had in WA delivering all the hits:

Amin’s Elite Writeup

by on Oct.05, 2019, under Wrestling

It’s literally been the biggest week in pro-wrestling since the Monday Night Wars back in the late 90s and early 2000s, so it’s a very exciting time to be a wrestling fan. Now I’ve been down with Total Nonstop Action/Impact Wrestling since day one back in 2002 but really the arrival of All Elite Wrestling signals for the first time since WCW closed it’s doors that we have two major league promotions going head to head with weekly television (sorry TNA) so I thought it’s time to dust off the old recapping skills and have a looksee at the debut show AEW Dynamite!
